This week the USHL Goalie of the Week is Jakub Dobes of the Omaha Lancers.
Dobes versus Boynton, 2021. So this week, Jakub Dobes and his Omaha Lancers took on Brennan Boynton and the Fargo Force. In round one, Dobes and Co. came out to make a statement and they did just that. His Force put up four goals on Boynton in the first two periods. Halfway through the second period, Boynton was pulled. Dobes kept the door shut. He faced a total of 33 shots and let none of them past. Dobes and Omaha take round one.
Looking to redeem himself Boynton got the nod to start the following night for Fargo. In a far less lopsided affair, both Dobes and Boynton remained relevant as both teams evenly traded goals through the first two periods. After the first two periods, the score remained knotted at three goals a piece. Again, it was Dobes that would prevail as teammate, Zach Dubinsky was able to solve Boynton late in the third. Dobes and Omaha take round two and the weekend series.
Jakub’s statistics now stand at:
