USHL Goalie of the Week: Matt Davis - Junior Hockey News

This is the first time that Davis has achieved our “Of the Week” honor.  The weekend proved to be nearly a tie between Davis and Connor Hopkins of the Tri-City Storm. Both netminders played in two games this weekend. Each had a shutout. In Davis’ shutout he faced 32 shots. Hopkins faced 25 in his. Connor went 1-1 on the weekend where Matt was undefeated.  

Matt Davis’s current statistics are:
W:10 L:4 T:0 SO:1 GAA:3.54 SV%:0.890
Matt Davis (20) is a product of Calgary, AB. His youth hockey experience was spread across several programs including the NWCAA Stampeders U16 AAA, the NWCAA Bruins U16 AAA and Edge Park Prep. He made his way into Juniors with the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL where he was named to the AJHL (North) All-Rookie Team for 2018-19. This year he transitioned to the Green Bay Gamblers who drafted Matt #9 overall in the 2020 USHL Entry Draft . He has committed to play for University of Denver beginning in 2021.
