Daily Dish: NCDC Bubble Hockey Junior Hockey News

It looks like the United States Premier Hockey League's NCDC Division is going to move the entire operation to sunny Florida.

Well, I'm pretty sure they are not going to let me in. But hey, this is Florida and we have assets everywhere. Somebody will get in.

What's unknown if this is just moving the existing teams and rosters to Florida or creating an entirely new set of NCDC teams for the bubble edition.

Imagine being a player that signed a free2play NCDC agreement only to see the season paused and then be told they have to pay to play in Florida, far away from the geographical advantages of playing near the college hockey teams in the northeast.

What are these "bubble" restrictions? So they are going to try and stop players from going to the beach or Tampa's Ybor City.

Here's the lowdown.

NCDC Tampa Bubble Info
Location - Tampa, FL
Saddlebrook Resort, 5700 Saddlebrook Way, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543

Players & staff will reside in fully furnished  condos with full kitchen, bathroom, living room, flat screens. Communal Laundry / washers & dryers are located within each teams cluster of condos that we will have access to.

The resort has (2) 18 hole golf courses, tennis courts, resort style pool, restaurants & other activities.

ARENA: AdventHealth Center Ice Arena, Wesley Chapel, FL. Houses 4 rinks, pro shop, gym, turf field
ADDRESS: 3173 Cypress Ridge Blvd., Wesley Chapel, FL 33544
REPORT DATE: January 4th, 2021
DEPART DATE: around February 17th, 2021
DURATION: 44-45 Days

Schedule - The teams can expect to practice (2) days then play (3) games in (3) days with a day off immediately following the 3rd game. They will then repeat the same schedule. This will allow all the teams to play against each other. Teams are looking at playing 18-20 games while there.

The league will have designated athletic trainers & COVID-19 testing kits readily available.

In the event that any player tests positive that said player will immediately be relocated to a “safe” condo where they will be required to stay for the 10-14 day quarantine. With our team having over half of the players and staff already having the virus this hopefully will NOT be a major issue of concern for us.

Players can either fly directly into Tampa, FL or wait to see if the league / organization charters its own flights to and from.

Cost: $3,500/player
