"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Yes, that's the most common definition of insanity. The NFL took a viewership hit when they allowed kneeling in protest. The NBA and MLB started the season with politics and protests in the forefront. According to Nielsen numbers, NBA viewership is down 13% from the regular season before the COVID-19 shut-down. Now the NHL has entered the fray. Do they not see what is happening?
With all the news coverage, protesters, political agendas, and ridiculousness of it all, why do criminal (of all racial variations) suspects continue refusing to comply, resist, and fight with law enforcement officers? I will not get into the specifics of each case, but I can say that not one case started with the suspect being compliant.
Who is taking the responsibility for the education shortcomings of these young people? Parents, teachers, community leaders are putting blame on the police officers when not a single one has stepped up and said "No, be polite and do as the officer says". Just as young hockey players need training and guidance, our youth need some training and guidance for real world interactions. Why are all these Monday morning experts not telling their communities that fighting with the police could easily result in death? Hey dummies keep challenging that concept enough times and more will end up dead. I am curious how Detective LeBron will continue his investigation from his bubble and present his findings of guilt before trial to court.
While all the "woke" sports from across the spectrum have decided to not play as a result of the madness in Wisconsin, now the brain surgeons of the National Hockey League have decided to follow the other sports' lead. Insanity incarnate! NHL players were supposed to be different, were supposed to be smarter. The NHL was the purest sport made of heart and grit and love of the game sans politics. A place where the players and the fans could come together and engage in a beautifully cold world of speed and strength. Solely focused on the game with no outside poo to splatter the glass and taint the image.
I've never been more embarrassed to be involved in the game in my entire life. It's disgusting. Go ahead and cancel the rest of the playoffs and next season while you are at it. I don’t care and won't be watching. Every time a player kneels for the National Anthem or there is a moment of silence for political reasons, that channel is changing.
