Daily Dish: Hands off the Panic Button Junior Hockey News

What is the benefit from falsely reporting COVID-19 test results to any state's Department of Health? Why would any laboratories not report ANY negative test results at all, and report that every person tested was positive?

That's the question Orlando's FOX 35 asked the Florida Department of Health earlier this week.

The report from the state showed that Orlando Health (one of our two major hospital groups) had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health's positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

The report also showed that the Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a positivity rate of 76 percent. A spokesperson for the VA told FOX 35 News on Tuesday that this does not reflect their numbers and that the positivity rate for the center is actually 6 percent.

How does that make any sense and the question remains, why?

The false reporting not only does further damage to our country as a whole, it is also inaccurately forcing the bottom to drop out of the death rate. So now what are we to believe?

And now the world of sports is completely on edge. Yes, there are a tremendous number of questions that are being followed by a ridiculous number of maybes. I am not in the speculation business when it comes to scenarios completely outside my area of often limited knowledge.

No, I'm not a doctor, but I do have a few around the country on speed dial. Same goes for police officers but that's an entirely different Dish.

What I'm about to say may cause a few folks to drop off the left side of the dial, but here it goes anyway.

Don't expect to be playing hockey is any area of the country controlled by Democrats. I don't care what the yahoos are saying today, but there is absolutely no chance we're going to see liberal states opening themselves up to teams from across the region or country participating in any local tournaments. Not before the November election anyway.

The boys in New England are not going to like seeing this, same goes for Michigan, Colorado, California, Illinois, and regrettably even Minnesota. If it looks like Joe Biden is nose diving in October, the left will be turning the screws even tighter.

So where should players be going? First of all, every player should have three options locked in by now.

In Canada, I'm confident that Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Maritimes will start by October 1st. The major junior level, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec have serious problems.

Here in the United States, we are steering clear of teams in states controlled by Democrats. That includes teams in divisions with a majority of teams in those same states.

I know, that leaves a very limited pool of options.

With that said, I am hearing about a number of "hub" type of opportunities for junior age players that could be popping up in late August. This would be markets where players can group together in apartments and play against three to five other teams at the same relative level of play at the same rink. Think of it as super house hockey. Not pretty, but it will be a fairly inexpensive alternative to nothing at all. We are not there, yet, but it's something to keep in the back of any player's mind.

If what I'm saying today bothers you, I'm sorry. For the first time in the game's history politics is directly impacting our game of hockey. A person really has to love their political party to be blinded by the very obvious... we are all being played.

So ask yourself these couple of questions; why are laboratories lying about test results and what group is directly benefiting from the false information? Here's a homework assignment for you. Google any liberal media outlet and Florida testing inaccuracies. Crickets, you won't see anything.

Now you know who's benefiting. I wonder if liberal states will be auditing every laboratory's results like Florida will inevitably have to. Do you really think that Florida is the only state with a false reporting problem? Come to think of it, maybe in this case it should be considered a federal criminal offense and let the FBI look into the poopfest.

I refuse to accept this baloney as the "new normal" and want our life back. Game on!
