I hope all of you doing well. Hopefully, those of you participating in camps and combines this week were able to so without much difficulty or any cancellations. I do know that the 2020 Chowder Cup tournaments scheduled for this month in Boston, have been officially canceled. Conversely, the NAHL Junior Combine did take place in Columbus, OH without issue. The second NAHL Junior Combine originally set to take place in Attleboro, MA has been moved to Danbury, CT and will take place July 14th and 15th (‘00s thru ‘04s).
This has been a busy week at VHC. It’s only Wednesday! The aforementioned combine in Columbus has left many players wondering if they were spotted by any coaches or scouts. Those teams that I have spoken with are somewhat overwhelmed. At this point in the process, they typically have the prospects much further narrowed. With the cancellation of spring events and the coming season in jeopardy, many teams are left scrambling to make sense of it all. We have been busy putting Victorious players in front of scouts asking us for players like ours ( whether they went to the combine or not).
In desperation for a distraction, I browsed through Facebook. Ugh. So much hatred and anger. It almost seems that nothing positive ever happens or when it does it gets twisted and manipulated until there is no positivity left. I was about to sign off until I came across an old friend’s post.
My friend Maggie had shared a pretty powerful video. Maggie owns Type1DreamTeam. She coaches and helps type one diabetics live a healthier life through fitness and nutrition.
Similar to your coaches, it is Maggie’s job to push her team and drive them toward success. The following video is what she shared with her team this week and I felt like you should see it as well. However, I must insist that you DO NOT just watch this video. DO NOT just listen to this video. DO NOT just read this video’s captions. LIVE THIS VIDEO.
