The love from within the game of hockey is often talked about but maybe not always exercised... just ask the referees. But in times of crisis, the family circles the wagons and is unified. In response to all the league closures resulting in unplanned cross-country travel of players, a number of members of JuniorHockey.com's Facebook Discussion Group have stepped up in an effort to assist players on their journey home.

Hockey Parents, I live 10 min off of I-70 at the Indiana/Ohio border. My own player is driving home today but any cross country players needing a FREE SAFE overnight and meal please PM me. Happy to help a young player get home. Considering we are right on a major cross country interstate please don't be afraid to ask.
I am also a teacher with full background check. It is safe your player would never be asked to do anything unsafe. Unless he/she is allergic to dogs...who might lick them.
- ROXANNE (Indiana)

Hockey mom here as well. I'm 3/4 mile south of I-90 in Minnesota near Rochester. I have a couch and an empty bed as well for the night, and I'll feed someone as well. I don't have a background check, but I do have a dog. She'll jump on you and bark at first, but she won't hurt you. I'll throw my hat in the ring as well.
-MICHELLE (Minnesota)

Available here too, St. Louis region on I-64/I-55. My hockey player got home last weekend. Happy to help any others.
-REBECCA (St. Louis)

Don't forget the hockey Dads. If you are passing through Denver, I am happy to help also.
-MARK (Denver)

I'm in central Minnesota. Now that hockey season is over, my place is available as well.
-KRIS (Minnesota)

We live pretty remote- north of Grand Rapids Minnesota. South of International Falls by approx 1 1/2 hrs if any JR hockey player is heading back to Canada. (We are expecting our NAHL player to be heading home soon) We have PLENTY of room and lots of food! Cedar Point Resort and Campground.
-TRACY (Minnesota)

We are in Dallas, and our door is open too!!
-MICHELLE (Dallas)

The same offer here but not many traveling through northern ND!
-JAMIE (North Dakota)

Same here for Frisco (TX).
-DEBORAH (Texas)

We are in Grapevine Tx. On the edge of DFW airport. Any player needing ride or pick up at DFW we are right here.
-DAVID (Texas)

We are also just off of I 35 in Faribault, and any passing through that nay need just a break or a bed for the night we have a few available, we are on our sixth year billeting, we still have one here who is working thru the summer!
-JOSH (Minnesota)

Just off I25 south of Denver. Already took care of one of my son's teammates.
-DANIEL (Colorado)

We just sent our billet off to drive from Raleigh, NC to San Diego. So far he has made it to Colorado. My son is home with me but we have room here too in Raleigh.
CHRISTINA (North Carolina)

Maybe it's old age, or even boredom, but I could not be more proud of the game then I am right now. The Hockey community continues to come together and rise above when its needed the most.

Thanks and please know the prayers of our family are with all of yours.
