This week the Great Western Futures Super Camp USHL Goalie of the Week is Derek Mullahy of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. This week Mullahy secured the only shutout in the league. The Lincoln boys tried twenty three times but not one of their efforts was good enough to get past Derek. His RoughRiders were able to topple the Stars 3-0 on Friday night. On Saturday, Mullahy was able to hold the Tri-City Storm to just two goals in regulation. However, at 2:23 into overtime, Cole McWard snuck one past him, winning the game for Tri-City.

Derek Mullahy (19) is a Scituate, MA native. He grew his game skating with Dexter Southfield Prep in Brookline, MA. Prior to Dexter he played with Shattuck St. Marys. Last year, Mullahy split his time with Dexter and the Boston Jr. Eagles of the Eastern Hockey Federation. not only named to the USHS-Prep All Founders League Team but he was also his team’s Captain. He was named to the 2018-19 USHS All-USA Hockey Second Team. Derek has made his NCAA commitment to Harvard University where he will begin play in 2020.
