The North American Hockey League playoffs are always going to be exciting and full of interesting storylines. That’s especially true when it comes down to the division finals.

Fairbanks Ice Dogs vs Minnesota Magicians (Fairbanks leads series 2-0): It’s never easy for the visiting team to pick up wins at the Big Dipper in Fairbanks. Yea, getting outgunned by a combined score of 11-3 is never going to be fun. If there is any kind of cherry on top of that cake, it’s going to be this. The Magicians get the last three games at home and I’m pretty sure they are going to play every one.   MY PICK: Magicians

Johnstown Tomahawks vs New Jersey Titans (series tied 1-1): The Titans’ overtime win on Saturday sets up the showdown in Jersey this weekend. The Tommies must bring lunchboxes to the rink this weekend. Let’s see how many Johnstown fans can make the trip with them. MY PICK: Johnstown

Aberdeen Wings vs Minot Minotauros (series tied 1-1):  We knew this was going to be a great series and Minot’s overtime win on Friday certainly put the pressure on the Wings. Can Aberdeen pick up the needed win at Minot this weekend? Failure to do so could raise a few red flags. MY PICK: Aberdeen

Amarillo Bulls vs Shreveport Mudbugs (series 1-1): Rocky Russo’s Bulls took one on the chin in Thursday’s home loss to Shreveport making Friday’s equalizing win more about saving face than much of anything else. The series moves to Shreveport Wednesday and Thursday. Can the ‘Bugs put the Bulls into the pasture of will they get stomped for even trying? MY PICK: Amarillo.
