The Hampton Roads Whalers are proud to announce our tryout camp for the 2019-2020 Jr. Whalers USPHL Elite & Premier Jr. Hockey teams will be held May 3rd-5th, 2019 at the Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex in Chesapeake, VA.
All prospective players are invited to attend the camp. The Whalers seek high character players with aspirations of playing hockey at the next level while being held to a high standard of perseverance, commitment, and excellence.
The Whalers will be looking to build off a very successful 2018-2019 season as both the Elite and Premier teams continued to be a force in the USPHL with the Premier team repeating as National Champions, their 3rd in 4 seasons and the Elite team finishing in the final 4, a year after winning the 2018 Elite National Championship. The organization continues to be a dominate powerhouse in the junior hockey with 8 Championships in our 13 seasons all while developing and advancing over 160+ players into college hockey programs, including 12 commitments so far off the 2018-19 team.
Camp check- In will start at 3:30pm on Friday May 3rd. Team assignment and jersey will be provided. Players will skate a team practice on Friday night. On Saturday, there will be a program introduction starting at noon, followed by 2 games, a goalie session, and off-ice testing with Bon Secours In-Motion. Sunday will be the final game at 9am, followed by player exit meetings.
