With the Kamloops Blazers winning their tiebreaking game against the Victoria Royals all the playoff matchups for the first round of the WHL playoffs are set. As for the Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League the first round matchups look like this.
The London Knights will face the Windsor Spitfires. The Saginaw Spirit will face the Sarnia Sting. The Sault Ste. Greyhounds will face the Owen Sound Attack. The Guelph Storm will face the Kitchener Rangers. The Ottawa 67s will face the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Niagara Ice Dogs will face the North Bay Battalion. The Oshawa Generals will face the Peterborough Petes. Finally, the Sudbury Wolves will face the Mississauga Steelheads.
In Quebec the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies face the Shawinigan Cataractes. The Drummondville Voltigeurs face the Gatineau Olympiques. The Sherbrooke Phoenix face the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. The Victoriaville Tigres face the Val-d'Or Foreurs. The Halifax Mooseheads faces the Quebec Remparts. The Baie-Comeau Drakkar face Moncton WIldcats. The Rimouski Oceanic face the Chicoutimi Sagueneens. Finally, the Charlottetown Islanders face the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
Round one for the WHL, OHL and QMJHL begins on Friday March 22nd. Halifax will host the Memorial Cup this season.
