Heisler Group’s Stars of the Week Junior Hockey News

Third Stars
Jesse Keicher, Atlanta Capitals, North American 3 Hockey League: The 2000-born forward from Aurora, N.Y., had an assist Saturday as the Capitals shut out the College Station Spirit 7-0.

Peyton Kelly, Thompson Blazers, British Columbia Major/Minor Midget League: Kelly assisted on a goal in Thompson’s 5-3 win Saturday over the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds. The 2002  forward out of Kamloops, B.C., is sixth in team scoring with 12 goals and 20 assists.

Second Stars
Ryan Gil, Battlesford North Stars, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League: Last week’s First Star was kept off the scoreboard on Friday night, but he chipped in a goal and an assist in Saturday night’s 9-6 victory over the Humboldt Broncos. With one game left in the regular season, the 1998 forward from Huntington Beach, Calif., is tied for fifth on the team in scoring. His 19 goals and 20 assists are only two points out of fourth.

Matt Moran, Granite City Lumberjacks, NA3HL: Moran scored the first goal of Friday night’s 3-0 win over the North Iowa Bulls and assisted on his team’s only goal in Saturday evening’s 3-1 loss to the Breezy Point North Stars. The Sartell, Minn., forward has 10 goals and five assists in 22 games for the Lumberjacks in his final year of junior hockey.

First Star
Gunner Moore, Atlanta Capitals, NA3HL: Moore, a 2001 defenseman who grew up in Las Vegas, continued his stellar season over the weekend, scoring one goal and adding a pair of helpers, and finishing at a plus-7 in the Capitals’ sweep of the College Station Spirit. Now with 35 points in 45 games, Moore is sixth in team scoring.
