This week the Great Western Futures Super Camp USHL Goalie of the Week is Chad Veltri of the Youngstown Phantoms. 51 shots! This week Veltri faced 51 shots in both games he played for the Phantoms and he stopped every single one. On Saturday night he took on the Des Moines Buccaneers and turned away 27 attempts. On the following night, he faced the Central Illinois Flying aces and he stopped all 24 they threw his way.

Chad Veltri(20) is a product of Fox Chapel, PA. His youth hockey was spent playing with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey league along with Fox Chapel Area High. In 2016, Veltri began playing in the Juniors with the NAHL’s Corpus Christi IceRays. This season he made his way to the USHL and began playing with the Sioux Falls Stampede. However, he was released by the Stampede on Dec. 12th after playing 10 games. Chad was later signed by the Youngstown Phantoms on Dec. 21st. Veltri has committed to Niagara University beginning in the 2019 season.
