Daily Dish: Five Matchups to Watch this Weekend Junior Hockey News

This week’s five key North American Hockey League matchups will be more than entertaining.

#3 Amarillo Bulls at #19 Odessa Jackalopes: Bulls are rocking while Odessa is not. Can the Jackalopes put their foot down and stop the stampede? Well, we’re about to find out. Just how much more mediocrity can Odessa fans take?

#13 Springfield Blues at #9 Janesville Jets: Both teams ore .500 in the last ten games but it appears that Janesville is working the phones to re-tool for the big playoff push. Springfield? Not so much. It’s obvious that Joe “That’s Fixable” Dibble is working the phones and pullin’ triggers for the Jets.

#12 Bismarck Bobcats at #1 Aberdeen Wings: Uh, Bismarck, we have a problem. I’m thinking that the Bobcats’ 3-7 record in the last ten games pales in comparison to the Wings’ eighteen game streak.

#6 Austin Bruins vs #4 Minnesota Magicians: The road team in this series has a strange advantage. We have to go all the way back to February 9-10 of last season to find a date where the home team actually won a game. Can we expect something different this weekend? Now that we are saying something about it, there’s a better possibility.

NAHL BATTLE OF THE WEEK
#5 Jamestown Rebels at #2 Johnstown Tomahawks: The Rebels have the perfect opportunity to chip away at the Tomahawks 14-point lead this weekend in Johnstown. What are the odds that’s going to happen? “Not good,” says the crystal ball.
