The North American Hockey League will always have games that are intriguing. In this new feature we will profile the Top Five Match-ups for the weekend, based on our weekly rankings.
#2 Amarillo Bulls at #12 Topeka Pilots – Rocky Russo and his red-hot Bulls stampede into Topeka with every intention of roaring out of town with max points. Does Simon Watson’s flyboys have anything in the arsenal to stop Amarillo? I’ll say this, it’s going to take a lot more than the bucket brigade to slow down the Bulls.
#11 New Jersey Titans at #1 Johnstown Tomahawks – The Tomahawks return to the War Memorial after seeing their ridiculous win streak come to a screeching halt at Jamestown. We’re thinking that New Jersey could be skating into an ambush.
#4 Minnesota Magicians at #9 Janesville Jets – Don’t look now but Janesville looks like a contender again. Can AJ Bucchino’s tricksters pull enough fast ones this weekend to ground the Jets?
#5 Austin Bruins at #6 Bismarck Bobcats – The Bruins drag their five-game win streak to Bismarck this weekend to take on the Bobcats. This is a serious where absolutely anything can happen.
NAHL BATTLE OF THE WEEK
#3 Aberdeen Wings at #7 Minot Minotauros – Aberdeen Wings Head Coach Scott Langer has been known to be a little superstitious and is not going to do or say anything to disrupt his boys’ winning streak. That may include making sure NOT to read this article. Knowing Langer, it’s likely already too late. This is one weekend where Marty Murray’s ‘Tauros should be more than happy to get to Sunday with a home split.
