The Steamboat Wranglers are welcoming Sebi Culver back to the team for a second year. The forward from Visalia, Calif. has played for the Fresno Junior Monsters where the team won NORCAL as PeeWees and won CAHA as Bantams. Sebastian also played for the Bakersfield Jr. Dragons AA, and the Bakersfield Jr. Condors AA. Last year, he was a Wrangler.

Sebi writes, “I am excited to return to the Wranglers, not only because of the great program and phenomenal staff, but for the amazing fan base, educational opportunity, and all the great things this community has to offer. As a returner from last season, I am hoping to not only advance my skills in hockey, but to give back to the community of Steamboat that has shown nothing but love and support for the Wranglers. There is no better place in the world to play hockey and to grow as a young man than Steamboat Springs, Colo., and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for the Wranglers, Steamboat, and me!”

Sebi is also finishing up his senior year at Steamboat Springs High School, while taking college courses on the Steamboat campus of Colorado Mountain College.

Wrangler Head Coach Ryan Dingle is looking forward to having Sebi in that Wrangler jersey again. “Sebi is a perfectionist. Whether it is academically or athletically, he expects the most out of himself. He is a stand-up individual who every parent hopes their child will grow up to be like. Sebi has great hands and a good hockey IQ that will enable him to take his game to the next level this season. He will be given a bigger role and I anticipate he will, once again, thrive in this opportunity.”

The Steamboat Wranglers are the newest team to join the Western States Hockey League. The WSHL is an Amateur Athletic Union, Tier II Junior “A” hockey league that has been in continuous existence since 1994. The WSHL is the second largest junior hockey league in North America, with 30 teams in 14 states. The Wranglers are part of the Mountain Division of the WSHL.
