Florida Eels Add Power Up Front with the signing of Swedish Veteran GABRIEL HEMSTRÖM Junior Hockey NewsPublished: Sunday, 13 Aug 2017
By: Frank Scarpaci
HEMSTRÖM at 6’3” 193
pounds brings size and experience to the Eels forward lineup. GABRIEL comes
with 3 years of junior experience. GM Scarpaci has been very selective in
signing his players this season. He was looking for a highly skilled young man
that possesses the style of work ethic that is a Hallmark of the Eels
GM Scarpaci scouted
HEMSTRÖM for quite some time. We love his passion and his intensity. “He
trained extremely hard every day,” say his Swedish coaches. “He is first to be
at practice. Last to leave. He sets his own “barometer” very high. He works to
perfection. Extremely coachable.” They also echoed his character and leadership
qualities were impeccable. Bringing in GABRIEL HEMSTRÖM was a no brainer.
Head Coach of the Eels
Premier Team, Frankie Scarpaci, commented:
“We also saw in games he played (in very strong leagues in Sweden) he
averaged ½ point per game. That is pretty impressive. Coach Scarpaci said this kid has the “Will To
Win” and it shows in games, practices and over all character. We are so pleased
that he joined us this year. He is new to the America and of course Florida.
All of the guys are looking forward to him fitting right in and helping him and
the so many other new Eel players to enjoy their entire experience here while
being an impact players in our program.
