Brian has been an extremely steady defensemen for the Eels over the past 3 seasons. He plays more as a defensive defenseman absolutely dominant in the D Zone. He is without question the go to guy when the score is close or in the final minutes of any period or in the game. He has a very high hockey IQ. He will definitely be on the radar of many NCAA coaches this season. He is a 1997 so he will be going into his final season as a junior player.
Premier Head Coach Frankie Scarpaci has had Brian as part of his team for all 3 seasons, dating back to when Brian joined the Eels on the Empire team, then the USP3 team and last year on the Elite team. Brian will be moving up to this year’s Premier squad. He has played in 105 regular season games as an Eel. Although Brian is known for his defensive abilities last season he did showed some offensive talents with 6 goals and 14 assists in 41 games. He plays a textbook style of play. Solid first pass out to wingers. He is unbeatable in front of his own net as he defends the crease with poise deliverance and confidence. He has a very hard and accurate shot from the offensive blueline posing a threat on opposing goalies. Brian has laid a claim on the Penalty Kill and has earned power play time as he uniquely established himself in front of the opposing goalies creating a multitude of scoring opportunities.
Brian has been one of the Eels best Captains ever to wear a C or A for the Eels. He has enormous respect from his peers. He personifies the definition of leadership. He is a high character young man and we look forward to another tremendous year under his leadership.
