Estero, FL- The Florida Jr. Blades have signed goaltender Sam Bell and defenseman Jonas Hostovecky for the 2016-17 season, head coach Todd Pococke and assistant coach Tyler Carlston announced today.

Bell, '97 birth year, joins the team from the Cape Fear Warriors organization.

“Sam has great character and will fit in well with our family,” said Pococke. “He uses every opportunity to improve both on and off the ice.”

The North Carolina native is expected to be a dependable netminder with his continuous effort to become a highly-trained puck tracker.

“Bell is very coach-able,” said Carlston. “Under goalie coach Mike Shields teaching we expect him to develop all season long.”

The 6-4, 215-pound Slovakian defender was signed out of Sweden from IFK Tumba Hockey.

“We're very excited to get Hostovecky in a Junior Blades uniform for this season,” said Pococke. “He has tremendous size and is a solid hockey player.”

Hostovecky's pro-sized frame is effortlessly matched with his hard-working style of play.

“Jonas is very steady. He breaks up a ton of plays, is able to play physical, and has a big shot from the point,” said Carlston. “We expect him to be a key component to our blue line this season.”
