The Cape Cod Islanders defense of their Eastern Conference crown took a major step forward as head coach Jay Punsky announced the signing of center Jimmy Pollock to a tender agreement for the 2016-17 season.
The 5'10" 170 pound Pollock played for the Igloo Jaguars at the Tier II Nationals where he caught the eye of the reigning coach of the year.
Last season he scored 12 goals and added 10 assists in 20 games in the NJYHL.
"I watched Jimmy play and was impressed at how strong he was on the puck and how physical of a game he played. He has great vision and can put the puck in the net and will be an asset to our team offense and power play." Punsky continued "Along with his offensive upside he is very good in his own end and that is the first thing I look at when recruiting a player.  He has all the makings of a guy we look to in those game on the line situations."
