Cape Cod Islanders President, Dan Hodge is pleased to annouce that the organization is adding a Tier I U18 program to begin play in August. The team will play 17-20 games against other Tier I programs and Prep Schools. It will also play in at least two high profile showcases, where college scouts will be in attendance. The team will have two practices a week, skills sessions, the option to practice with the Junior A team and off ice workouts and video sessions.
"We are excited to be adding the U18 program" Hodge said "I want this team to the premier place for players to get exposure and to prepare for their high school seasons. I am anticipating a high end product that will focus on the player and make every player better both on and off the ice."
The Islanders have also been in preliminary talks with several youth leagues in the area about creating a program that encompasses both boys and girls programs. "We are in talks with multiple leagues at this time. I am hopeful that we will be able to create a successful youth organization under the Cape Cod Islanders umbrella in the very near future."
