Jr. Blades Propel Past Eels 8-6 Junior Hockey News

Estero, Fla. – The dynamic duo of David Wong and Tyler O'Mara struck again to each score twice to lift the Jr. Blades to a 8-6 win over the Florida Eels Sunday afternoon at Germain Arena. The Jr. Blades extend their unbeaten streak to four games clinching this win.
At 8:27 of the first period Wong took a power-play opportunity to snap the scoreless tie to give the Jr. Blades the 1-0 lead. O'Mara would follow that owning the next eight minutes of the period with two back-to-back goals to give the Jr. Blades the 3-0. Krister Seps would slip one through Jr. Blades goaltender Max Minervini legs to close out the period 3-1.
Within five minutes of the second period the Eels managed to beat Minervini three times to take the 4-3 lead. The Jr. Blades would rally when Matt Larmoyeux would score tying the game at 5:09 into the second. A pass from Jordan Schultz to O'Mara would find its way to Austin Resseguie to have the Jr. Blades reclaim the lead 5-4. Anthony Eichhorn would capitalize on a power-play opportunity ten minutes later to widen the gap. Three minutes later, Eels Ayodele Adeniye would cut the lead by one
The third period would start out as a hard fought battle between both teams until Riley Degler was able to slip one past Eels netminder Greene to take the 7-5 lead. Within five minutes, Eels CJ Antonelli would tally a goal. All came to a spectacular end when Wong clutched the game with an empty net goal to close out the game 8-6.
Max Minervini earned the win stopping 52 out of 46 goals, while Nolan Greene takes the loss allowing eight goals on 48 shots.
The Jr. Blades will face the Tampa Bay Juniors on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. at the Ellenton Ice & Sports Complex before returning to home ice on Sunday at noon.
