Estero, FL- The Florida Jr. Blades rebounded strongly this past weekend winning both games at Germain Arena against the Daytona Racers.Friday
night's matchup ended in a victory against the Racers with a final score of 7-1.
A rematch between both teams followed on Saturday
afternoon where the Jr. Blades came out triumphant once again with a final score 7-0
Head Coach Todd Pococke saw this past weekend as a chance for the whole team to excel while preparing for the upcoming games ahead.
“We are pleased with the outcome of this weekend against Daytona. These were 4 huge points for us as they helped us pull ahead in the race for the playoffs,” said Todd Pococke. “We had great contribution from all of our players and that is a great sign. We've enjoyed the wins these couple days, but now we are focused on 2 big games this weekend against the Eels.”
Austin Resseguie (39 pts) is the team's leading point leader with 15 goals and 24 assists, and just one point behind is Matt Peterson (38 pts) with 14 goals and 24 assists. The Jr. Blades will look to continue their hot streak this weekend first taking on the Florida Eels at the Fort Myers Skatium on Saturday at 3:20 p.m. The two teams will battle again on the Jr. Blades home ice Sunday at noon.
