Florida Eels USP3 Defenseman Andrey Stankevich named Defenseman Player of the week. On Saturday night's game vs. Tampa Andrey scored one goal and 2 assist. On Sunday vs. the jr. Blades he notched 2 more assist for a 5 point weekend.
He is 16th over all in league scoring. He has 13 goals 26 assist for 39 points. He is amongst the top 2-3 in the league in defenseman point wise and definitely the most dominant defenseman in the USP3 division.
One QMJHL scout over the weekend scouting our teams opined that he plays like a pro player. Very intense, poised and determined to win. He has been a constant among the names by NCAA Div. 3 coaches at the USPHL Showcases. They love the way he plays. He is very mature for his age. (1995) He is a hybrid defenseman. Extremely defensive in his own zone. Owns the neutral zone. And very deadly on the blue line as evident with his goal production and assist.
