JuniorHockey.com is pleased to announce that Rudy Sulmonte has earned the FIRSTAR Performance of the Week for his outstanding game on Saturday against the Johnstown Tomahawks.

Sulmonte scored three times in the 2nd period to lead the Corpus Christi IceRays to an impressive 5-3 win at the North American Hockey League's Showcase event in Blaine, Minnesota.

The natural hat-trick was especially unique due to the fact that both the second and third goals was tallied short-handed.

The Leavittown, New York native joined the IceRays after finishing last season in Fairbanks where he managed to put up just shy of a point per game (25 gms, 7g, 12a, 24 pts).

"Rudy has been a great addition for us and will be one of our go to guys this season," IceRays General Manager Pat Dunn said on Monday. "He is a nice kid that we can surround with our younger prospects."

The twenty year-old now has four goals and an assist in the first four IceRays games this season.

Congratulations Rudy, your performance was certainly the best of the week.
