The Midwest Junior Hockey League had three games on the schedule Saturday night and all three had one thing in common - goals. The second-place Soo Firehawks earned a weekend home sweep of the Rhinelander Street Cats with a 6-2 win at the Big Bear Arena. MWJHL co-leading scorer Nick Murphy had a goal and an assist to go along with single goals from Anthony Laaksonen, Lucas McLeod, John Michael Barlow, Taylor McRorie and Mike Mullen. Matt Majic tacked on two assists and goaltender John Posler made 47 saves for his first win in a Firehawks' uniform. For the Street Cats, Aleksandr Ilin and Dmitry Lvov scored, David Wandell and Cody Schatzman added two assists apiece and Rushan Guinuillin finished with 56 saves in goal. ********** At the Edge Ice Arena, Holland native Abram Prince recorded three goals and two assists to lead the Holland River Bandits to a 9-5 win over the Michigan Grrrowl. Alex Devries added two goals and two helpers and Bryce Stenstrom tallied a goal with three assists to tie Murphy atop the MWJHL scoring lead with 85 points. Cam Benson, Cory Bussing and Trevor McCoy all had a goal plus two assists. In goal for Holland, Brendon Hanser stopped 37 shots for the win. Chad Cobb registered a goal and an assist for the Grrrowl, while Dustin Kain, Vaughn Clouston, Jerome Schlaff and Christian Ramage also scored. Kyle Cobb and Zach Cruz each chipped in two assists and Sean Stephens and Taylor Kuhn combined for 36 saves in the Grrrowl cage. ********** Adam Pinkowski's hat trick lifted the Michigan Ice Dogs to a 6-1 win over the GL Lightning at the Allen Park Civic Arena. Alex Stewart added a goal and an assist and Cody Brent and Matt Hartford rounded out the scoring. James Subu put up two assists and Colton Lewicki made 14 saves between the pipes. The Lightning's lone goal came from Andrew Defauw and goalie Colin Walsh stopped 14 shots.
