HARTLAND, MI - The Hartland Hounds used seven-point games from Ethan Doyle and Gabe Daavettila Friday night as the Hounds defeated the GL Lightning 14-0 at the Hartland Sports Center. Doyle and Daavettila each recorded two goals and five assists for the Hounds, while Alex Grizzel and Jared Vincek each went for two goals and two assists and Scott Luca and captain Jake Henrikson each scored twice. "We didn't play to our potential, but it just seemed like everything we put on net went in," said Daavettila. "Coach (Randy Montrose) switched up the lines before the game and my line (with Doyle and Grizzel) just clicked. We moved the puck well once we got in their zone and it ended up in the back of the net." Tyler Thirlby chipped in a goal and two assists, Zak Bodziak added a goal and an assist and Matt Passino and P.J. Krystyniak contributed two assists apiece. Andrew Brownlee and Myles Grix split time in net, with Brownlee starting and stopping all 15 shots and Grix turning aside the four shots he faced. "We played really good, but we just have to bear down on defense and play shorter shifts," added Henrikson. "Long shifts will hurt us in the playoffs." Garrett Avery and Colin Walsh combined for 65 saves in the Lightning net. The Hounds (38-0-1-0) are off until next Friday night when the Rhinelander Street Cats come to the Hartland Sports Center. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
