Fargo, ND - Alex Lyon registered 37 saves and the Omaha Lancers received goals from four different skaters Friday evening en route to a 4-2 triumph over the Fargo Force in front of 4,449 fans at Scheels Arena.  With the win, the Lancers improved to 24-17 this season and have now won seven of their last eight games overall.  Omaha's victory coupled with a Lincoln Stars loss at the hands of the Sioux Falls Stampede pushes the Lancers into sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference with 48 standings points.

After a predominantly scoreless first period, the Lancers fired the game's opening salvo 16:32 into the game when Tyler Moy unleashed a right wing wrist shot from beyond the blue line that appeared to catch Force goaltender Cameron Johnson off guard before slipping into the back of the Fargo cage.  Niklas Folin earned the only assist on Moy's third goal of the season, which marked the 22nd time in 40 games this season that Omaha has scored first.  The Lancers are now 17-5 when scoring first this year.  The Force evened the game just over two minutes later when a right wing shot by Matthew Pohlkamp produced a rebound in the slot, which was promptly punched in by Michael Booth for his fifth goal of the year.  Chris Dienes garnered the secondary assist on the even strength strike netted 18:55 into the first period.

As it did in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Sioux Falls, Omaha began to pull away in the second period with a pair of unanswered goals.  First, Dominic Racobaldo landed his fourth goal of the season 7:30 into the middle period when he fired a left wing shot off the pad of Johnson and into the back of the Force net.  Then, in the midst of one of the team's seven power plays on the night, Jake Randolph feathered a cross-crease pass to Robbie Baillargeon who made no mistake in tipping in his 14thgoal of the year.  The man-advantage marked came 11:26 into the second period and moved Omaha's record to 18-5 when scoring a power play goal this season.

Fargo trimmed the deficit in half just past the midway point of the final period when Dominic Toninato roofed in his 17th goal of the year but that's as close as the Force would get as Drew Melanson landed an empty net conversion with only two seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Lyon earned the win in goal for the Lancers with 37 saves on 39 shots in improving to 18-12 overall this season.  The veteran goaltender is now 4-1 head-to-head against the Force.  Meanwhile, Johnson suffered the loss for Fargo despite 32 saves on 35 shots.

The Lancers are back in action tomorrow evening return to Scheels Arena for their final regular season meeting with the Force.
