Warriors Extinguish Blazers- The West Sound Warriors got a pair of goals each
from Kai Wilkins (38g 51a) and Mike Byers (18g, 14a) Friday to help beat the
Bellingham Blazers 8-5. The two teams
combined for 107 shots on the night. On Saturday night, Peter Mingus (6g,1a, 4
games) led the Warriors charge with a pair of goals to down the Blazers 5-3.
Generals Handcuff Outlaws- The Generals buried their five-game losing
streak with big 7-6 OT win over the Tri-Cities Outlaws Friday night. Eugene got
a set of goals from Kenneth Grabeldinger (11 gms, 2g, 3a) and Hunter Hartman
(20g, 32a) to lead the charge during regulation play before Justin Huelsman (5g,
6a) lit the lamp with game winner in overtime. On Saturday, it was not even
close. Full of confidence from Friday night's win, the Generals scored a trio
of first period goals and never looked back as they cruised to an easy 9-3 win.
Zak Johnson (28g, 24a) led the assault with three-goals and an assist.
Vipers drop 18th in Battle with
Eugene- The Vancouver Vipers
got another taste of success on Sunday when Logan Chavez (27gms, 1a, 3a) buried
a Cody Dettman (14g, 16a) pass to knot their game at 4-4 in the third period.
Eugene responded with a Stephen Soloway (18g, 12a) goal a minute later, than
two more times, to beat the Vipers 7-4. Soloway skated away with a solid
five-point night (3g, 2a) and this week's JuniorHockey.com/NORPAC Player of
the Week award.
