The Belleville Bulls have inked forwards Michael Cramarossa and Chad Heffernan to OHL contracts earlier today.
Cramarossa, listed at 6'1", 180 lb., was taken 51st overall in the third round of this past April's OHL Priority Selection. Last season, the Markham, Ontario native scored 20 goals with 20 assists for 40 points in 40 games with the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). He's been described as a strong, intelligent two-way player who is also a good skater. Cramarossa will join his older brother, Bulls overage forward Joseph Cramarossa, who was acquired from the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors this past Winter. The younger Cramarossa will also be reunited with former Marlboros' teammate Daniel De Sousa, who was also drafted by the Bulls this past April.
Heffernan, projected as a top-six forward, was also taken in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection as he was the 69th overall pick by the Bulls' in the fourth round. The 6'1", 168 lb. forward scored 12 goals and 11 assists with 86 penalty minutes in 30 games for the Peterborough Petes' minor midget squad. The Peterborough, Ontario native has been described as a very intimidating player who uses his size and skill-set to his advantage, but the knock on him is his issues with consistency.
With both players signed, they are expected to be in the Bulls' lineup as they play a home-and-home series against the Kingston Frontenacs this weekend.
