Second Night of Pre-Season Action In The OHL - Junior Hockey News

At the Yack Arena in Wyandotte, Michigan, the Plymouth Whalers got goals from Cody Payne, Curtis Crombeen and Rickard Rakell in a 3-0 shutout win over the Windsor Spitfires. The Whalers' goaltending tandem of Matt Mahalak and Riley Corbin provided the shutout. Matt Mistele and Alex Aleardi each registered two assists.
In their second game against an OHL team, the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies won their second game in two days with a 7-3 win over the Erie Otters at the North Wentworth Arena in Flamborough, Ontario. Jean-Sebastien Dea scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Huskies while Jake Evans scored a goals with two assists for the Otters in a losing cause.
Justin Rasmussen scored three goals and Josh Burnside found the net twice, including the game-winner as the visiting Mississauga Steelheads downed the host Guelph Storm 5-3 at the Sleeman Centre. The Steelheads' power-play unit scored three goals and scored a short-handed goal
