COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The United States Women's Under-22 Select Team swept its three-game series against Canada with a 4-3 victory in today's final game at the Winsport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex. "It was an impressive effort by the team to earn the win," said Katey Stone, head coach of the U.S. Women's Under-22 Select Team. "I'm proud of how hard and smart they played." It was another come-from-behind win for Team USA, as it erased a 2-0 deficit with three-straight goals in the second period.
Canada tied the game briefly midway through the final period, but Jocelyne Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) netted the game winner less than a minute later at 11:39. Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.), Monique Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.), and Jocelyne Lamoureux(Grand Forks, N.D.) all put forth three-point efforts for the U.S. in the victory. Decker and Jocelyne Lamoureux had two goals apiece, while Monique Lamoureux had one goal. Goaltender Alex Rigsby (Delafield, Wis.) turned aside 30 of 33 shots.
