JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Tomahawks announced today their training camp roster and schedule for the team's inaugural season in the NAHL. The camp will be held Monday, August 20 - Friday, August 31 at Planet Ice in Richland Township.
The training camp roster consists of 29 players, including 15 forwards, 10 defensemen, and 4 goaltenders.
The list of forwards include JB Baker, Cody Boyd, Brandon Brossoit, Gage Christianson, Cody Gylling, Codey Hansen, Evan Hesse, Camren Jorgensen, Mitch Kontny, Jaycob McCombs, Brandon Reinholz, Payton Ruter, Cobi Smith-Mass, Jordan Watt, and Connor Wright.
The defensive unit is comprised of Kristaps Bazevics, Cody Bentzel, Jeff Bergh, Ryan Devine, Jake Fairchild, Jesse Kessler, Nathan Morris, Casey Nelson, Jared Pilet, and Ian Spencer.
The players vying for the goaltending positions are Bodhi Engum, Walker Enstad, Matthew McLaughlin, and Chris Truehl.
During the two-week period, players will hit the ice Monday - Friday for two hour-long sessions per day. Lead by Head Coach Jason Spence and Assistant Coach Mike Letizia, the camp will help the prospects perfect their skills and continue building team chemistry through scrimmages and drills.
"I'm expecting everyone to give 100% during the on-ice session and the off-ice workouts," said Letizia. "The important thing is for all of us to come together as a unit so we are fully prepared for the season."
The Tomahawks open the season on Saturday, Sept. 8 with two games in Port Huron, Mich. before returning to the War Memorial for the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 29 vs. the division-rival Michigan Warriors.
