Damian Bourne Signs OHL Contract with Mississauga Steelheads - Junior Hockey News

The Mississauga Steelheads have inked Damian Bourne to an OHL Contract earlier this morning. Bourne, a 1996-born forward, was drafted 11th overall by the Steelheads, who was then known as the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, in this past April's OHL Priority Selection. The native of Oakville, Ontario played for the OHL Cup winning Mississauga Rebels squad last season where he netted 26 goals and 53 assists with 89 penalty minutes in 62 games. In the 2012 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament, he registered five assists with eight penalty minutes in seven games. Bourne recently attended last month's Team Ontario Under-17 Provincial Camp.
Listed at 6'5", 200lbs, the word on Bourne is that he plays a power forward game who also has a great skill-set for a player his size. When he has time to release it, Bourne boasts a powerful shot. He has the potential to become a dominating top-six forward in the not too-distant future. Bourne will join his future Steelheads' teammates at the team's training camp, which will take place later this month.
