Brooks,Alberta, August 1, 2012 - The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce the signings of Nick Newman, Jeff Flicker and Tyler Narsing for the upcoming season.

Newman, a forward, played this past season in the KIJHL for the Nelson Leafs and amassed 68 Points in his first season in Canada. Nick calls Saugus, California home and played for the highly competitive Los Angeles Junior Kings prior to his time in Nelson.

Flicker is Minnesota native and forward, who played in the highly competitive Minnesota High School League for the Stillwater Area High School.

Narsing is a defenceman who grew up in Mukilteo, Washington and split last season between the Wenatchee Wild and the Helena Big Horns.

Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou - "We are very pleased to add these quality players as we move forward to defend our AJHL Championship. In addition to being quality hockey players, all 3 of these young men possess the character and integrity that we look for in players. They also all have aspirations to play for NCAA Division 1 programs and we look to be able to continue to help players reach their collegiate goals."

"We watched Nick pretty heavily this past season and invited him to our recent selection camp. He brings good size, speed and puck skills and played with a physical edge that will allow him to be successful at this level.

"Jeff is also a highly skilled forward who also bring size at 6'3". Adding a skilled big man like that to the roster is a good addition for us. He is another player who showed very well at our selection camp. Players like Jeff are a big part of the equation for the Bandits as we move forward this season".

"Tyler is a steady defenseman who is well known by one of our scouts. He skates very well and should contribute to the mobility of our defensive core. We have spent time getting to know him as a person and look forward to working with his game"

"With the players that have moved on from our team last year, these 3 will have large roles to fill. All 3 of them are great additions to the team, particularly at the 93 birth year. The bonus with all of them is they are also good young men from good families who have Championship aspirations. I have a lot of confidence in what these players will do in this league as we move forward."
