Estero, Fla.-- Dan Thompson returns to a dominate Jr. Blades lineup with an eye toward a national championship and a break out season.
The Franklin, N.J. native spent the past season with the Jr. Blades. Anchoring the Jr. Blades third-line, Thompson recorded a modest 30 points (18g, 12a) in 37 games. Thompson's greatest impact was during the Jr. Blades post season run.
"Thompson's presence was felt all over the ice, from clutch goals in the crease, to his defensive minded approach in all three zones," said head coach and general manager Tad O'Had. "Dan really grew into his leadership role in the playoffs and his ability to set the tone of the game is incredible."
The 6-foot-1, 190 lbs. forward is known for his energy and ability to grind out difficult situations. "I like to use my size to my advantage," said Thompson. "I make a point to do the little things- finnish my checks, be defensively responsible and put in 100% effort every game. When I succeed with those the rest of my game falls into place."
Thompson is on a collegiate path with hopes of a standout season. "Dan has the ability to perform at the collegiate level," said O'Had. "This season he will gain exposure to scouts from the best teams as we play against tough northern competition."
The Jr. Blades open the season in Burlington, VT at the Woodchuck Classic on September 6.
