Estero, Fla.-- The Jr. Blades coaching staff is proud to announce the addition of Alec Koenen to the 2012-13 roster.
Koenen joins the Jr. Blades after spending last season with the Omaha Lancers AAA program. The Shakopee, Minn. native is known for setting the pace of a game.
"At 6-foot-3 Koenen plays without fear," said head coach/GM Tad O'Had. "Alec is a power forward with the ability to wreck defensive lines. His size and skill made him a valuable recruit for our rookie class."
While not the youngest player on the Jr. Blades roster, the 2012-13 season will be the '93 born Koenen's first season of juniors.
"Koenen performed outstandingly in our April free agent camp," said O'Had. "We really liked his size and skill. Koenen has a hard work attitude that will serve him well as he looks to advance his hockey career."
After graduating from Holy Angels high school Koenen looked no further than the sandy beaches of SWFL.
"The program that the Jr. Blades offer is unparalleled," said Koenen. "I get elite training, ice time five to six days a week and the beach? It really is a fully developed program."
