Michael Dal Colle, the seventh overall pick in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, has signed a standard OHL contract with the Oshawa Generals earlier today.
Dal Colle, a 1996-born center, played for the Vaughan Kings AAA minor midget club in 2011-12. In 42 games with the Kings, the Vaughan, Ontario native tallied 44 goals and added 34 assists as the team's captain. In the 2012 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament, Dal Colle scored four goals with seven assists in 11 games for the Kings. Listed at 6'2", 170 lbs., Dal Colle impressed the Generals' brass in May's Orientation Camp and could make an immediate impact this coming season. He's been described as a smart two-way player with strong offensive skills and outstanding leadership qualities.
Dal Colle, who recently participated in Team Ontario's Under-17 Provinical Camp, will be at the Generals' training camp later next month.
