Kyle Platzer Signs OHL Contract With London Knights - Junior Hockey News

The London Knights have signed 17-year old forward Kyle Platzer to an OHL contract. The native of Waterloo, Ontario, was taken in the fourth round (65th overall) of the 2011 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
Listed at 5'11, 175 lbs., Platzer skated for his hometown Waterloo Siskins of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) last season. In 50 games with the Siskins, Platzer scored 31 goals and added 24 assists in 50 games and took home the league's Rookie of the Year Award. Despite being a late cut at last year's training camp, the Knights' recalled Platzer during the 2011-12 season and registered an assist with a plus/minus rating of +1 in four games with the OHL club.
Platzer skated in last year's GOJHL Prospects Game which was held in LaSalle. He is expected to be at the Knights' training camp later next month.
