Jr. Blades Add Veteran Leadership with Jon Davidson
Estero, Fla.-- In 2010 Jon Davidson joined the Florida Jr. Blades for their inaugural season. Davidson was one of a core group of teenagers that would grow up in the Jr. Blades system.
Davidson returned to his Jr. Blades family the following year, but due to his 1995 birth date was still viewed by older teammates as a rookie. His maturity soon changed their minds.
Davidson, known for his work ethic and steady presence on and off the ice has proven his leadership capabilities. "Jonny was our most responsible forward all last season," said head coach/ general manager Tad O'Had. "Defensively he competes harder than anyone on the ice. He's probably one of the best two-way forwards in the league."
Davidson brings a high-end skill set and a detailed approach to the team. "Hockey is a lot of fun for me, but it's also a job," says Davidson. "I want to do the best I can at every practice, every training session and every game."
His hard work has paid off and the coaches have taken note. "Jon is always wiling to elevate his team with a
big hit, goal or back check," said O'Had. "We couldn't be any happier to have Davidson back in a Blades sweater this season."
A look towards the upcoming season has coaches and scouts anticipating a big season for Davidson. "Look for him to make a huge impact on the score sheet and in the locker room as he is a leader in every sense of the word," said senior advisor of hockey development Jake Laime.
