Royal Bank Cup
Day 3 Wrap
Woodstock Slammers (1-1) vs. Portage Terriers (1-1)
Result: 4-1 Woodstock
Well, surprise surprise. The Slammers woke up and took the Terriers out behind the...woodshed. The boys from the Martimes delivered a classic butt-whopping to the over-confident team from Portage.
RBC Pick Record: 2-3
Day 4 Picks
Humboldt Broncos (2-0) vs. Soo Thunderbirds (1-1)
The 'Birds are on a mission while the Broncos are trying to defend home ice. Will Humboldt be able to knock the Soo to the bottom of the table? I don't think so. Soo will win!
Penticton Vees (0-2) vs. Woodstock Slammers (0-1)
The Slammers took advantage of an over-confident Portage team last night and embarrassed the Terriers. Tonight is going to be a different story when the Vees try to make-up for the first two disappointing games of the tournament.
Robertson Cup
Semi-Finals Wrap
St Louis Bandits (#3, 3-1) vs. Amarillo Bulls (#1, 2-2)
Result: 3-2 St Louis
Amarillo scored twice in the first period and was able to hold off the Bandits for the first two periods of Monday's game. Fortunately for St. Louis, the game continued in the third where they got clutch goals from Stephen Bopp and Joe Kalisz to end the Bulls run through the 2011-2012 NAHL season.
Texas Tornado (#6, 2-2) vs. Fairbanks Ice Dogs (#2, 2-2)
Result: 4-3 Texas
Tony Curtale has more lives than a litter of alleycats. How in the heck are they ever going to be able to get rid of the knucklehead when all he does is... win. The dang Texas Tornado got an overtime goal from Drew Allen to end the season for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
Robertson Cup Pick Record: 6-5
Robertson Cup Final Preview
St. Louis Bandits (#3, 4-1) vs. Texas Tornado (#6, 2-2)
Now it all comes down to this. The Bandits could be playing their last game while Curtale is trying to walk out of the Dr. Pepper Center for the last time with yet another Robertson Cup.
Do you think I am going to pick the Tornado over the Bandits? Hell no. Jeff Brown is a winner and he will have this Bandits team celebrating tonight!
What do you think?
