St. Louis Bandits (#3, 2-1) vs. Amarillo Bulls (#1, 2-1)

The Bandits messed around on Saturday night and almost missed the dance with an overtime win over the host Tornado. While the Bulls charged into the semi-finals with a convincing win over the Bismarck Bobcats.

Monday's first semi-final has the two teams matched up for the first time since the last day of the NAHL Showcase back in September. In that game the two teams combined for 14 power-plays and a single play goal in the Bulls 5-3 win. I like Jeff Brown's chances of getting the Bandits to the final.

Texas Tornado (#5, 1-2) vs. Fairbanks Ice Dogs (#2, 2-1)

Tornado coach Tony Curtale is going to be a tough nut to crack whenever he has the advantage of home ice and this game will not be an exception. Regardless, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs are on their way to winning the Robertson Cup for the second straight season.

Stephen,

You need to check your facts.

During the 2011-12 season the Tornado the both games they played against Fairbanks. On Sept 30 they won 2 - 1 in OT and on Oct 1 they won 5 - 4 in SO. Only two games. There was no four game home and home series with Fairbanks.

It appears that my crack research team has been sampling the product. I'd fire them but they are over utilized and under appreciated.

Please excuse the error and we will make sure that Jose and Senor Corona have a better grasp on the calendar for next year.
