Cascade Cup Champions, Southern Oregon Spartans Join WSHL - Junior Hockey News

The Western States Hockey League and the Southern Oregon Spartans are pleased to announce that the Southern Oregon Spartans has been approved for membership in the WSHL for the 2012-2013 season.
The Southern Oregon Spartans will begin it's sixth season of play by joining the WSHL. The Spartans formerly of the Northern Pacific Hockey League (NORPAC) a sanctioned league of USA Hockey are very excited to join the WSHL and participate in the extremely competitive Junior A League that is at the forefront of Junior A Hockey said Forest Sexton.
"With the addition of the Southern Oregon Spartans, and other new teams added during this off season, the WSHL will dress 20 plus teams in the 2012-2013 season. The WSHL is pleased to add a experienced team such as Southern Oregon Spartans with knowledgeable ownership and playoff experience," said Ron White, Commissioner of the WSHL. The Spartans were the 2011-2012 Champions of NORPAC.
The WSHL begins it's nineteenth (19 th) season in September, and it's second (2nd) year sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The WSHL discontinued it's membership after seventeen (17) years in USA Hockey at the beginning of the 2011-2012 season.
