Anaheim, CA- The Anaheim Ducks signed former South Shore Kings forward Chris Wagner to a three-year entry-level contract.
Wagner recently completed his sophomore season at Colgate University, scoring 51 points (17 goals, 34 assists), more than any other NCAA Division One underclassman and good enough for sixth overall. In his two years as a Colgate Raider, the Wellesley, MA, native scored 26 goals and added 44 assists (70 points) in 79 games. He was awarded All-ECAC second team honors this year.
Prior to his time at Colgate, Wagner played for the South Shore Kings during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. As a rookie, he finished third on the team in scoring with 20 goals and 14 assists (34 points) in 38 games. The next season, he led the EJHL in goals (34), assists (49), and total points (83,) the latter tying the EJHL single-season record. He took home Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Wagner was drafted by Anaheim with the 122nd overall pick (fifth round) in 2010
