JuniorHockey.com today announced that Brendan Shinnimin, of the Western Hockey League's Tri-City Americans, has been named the Perani's Hockey World National Player of the Week for the period ending March 25th.
The Americans picked up two wins to open the WHL play-offs in the weekend home sweep of the Everett Silvertips thanks in part to the play of Shinnimin. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba added a pair of assists in both games.
The 21 year-old has had one heck of a season, racking up a league-leading 134 points (58g, 76a) in 69 regular season games. In 2010-2011 the veteran had 96 points (34g, 62a).
