Cahow, Chu, Engstrom and Potter Named Assistant Captains for the 2011 Four Nations Cup
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Meghan Duggan (Danvers, Mass.) has been named the captain of the U.S. Women's National Team that will compete at the 2011 Four Nations Cup from Nov. 9-13, in Nykping, Sweden, it was announced today by USA Hockey.
Duggan, the 2011 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner, has suited up for Team USA 73 times dating back to 2007, including the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C., and four Four Nations Cups.
Duggan will be supported by assistant captains Caitlin Cahow (Branford, Conn.), Julie Chu (Fairfield, Conn.), Molly Engstrom (Siren, Wis.) and Jenny Potter (Edina, Minn.).
Cahow is appearing in her seventh Four Nations Cup and has participated in two Olympic Winter Games (2006, 2010). Chu, a three-time Olympian (2002, 2006, 2010), is making her 10th Four Nations Cup appearance. Engstrom, making her seventh appearance at the Four Nations Cup, is a two-time Olympian (2006, 2010). Finally, Potter, a four-time Olympian (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010), has competed in 201 games as a member of Team USA, including nine Three/Four Nations Cups.
The U.S. Women's National Team opens up the tournament against Sweden on Wednesday (Nov. 9) at 1 p.m. EST.
