As USA Hockey's Annual Congress is preparing for the first full day of meetings, the Junior Council is digging in for what promises to be an explosive next few days.
With the agenda of proposed changes on one table, and the threat of a massive withdrawal on the other, the Junior Council is trying it's best to fight off the challenges from the Youth Council and remain intact.
The problem with trying to display a unified front is the continuing issues with Mark Frankenfeld and the North American Hockey League juggernaut. We would understand why it would be difficult for the Minnesota Junior Hockey League and Western States Hockey League to want to do ANYTHING that Frankenfeld proposes. While handshake alliance deals are being made in the hallway, the meetings themselves turn into a formality.
We can only hope that the powers of USA Hockey keep an eye on what really matters the most. Our kids and our National Teams.
We will bring continuing coverage of this year's Annual Congress throughout the day and week. AJH has a number of ears sitting at the table. Now if only we could stream live video...
