DAUGHERTY, MARSHALL, AND McKAY EARN WEEKLY USHL AWARDS - Junior Hockey News

Chicago, IL "“ The United States Hockey League today announced the weekly award winners for the 23rd week of the 2010-11 USHL regular season.

Congratulations to forward Ryan Daugherty of the Omaha Lancers, named CCM Offensive Player of the Week; defenseman Ben Marshall of the Omaha Lancers, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Ryan McKay of the Green Bay Gamblers who earned honors as the Reebok USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Daugherty scored five points (1g, 4a) and posted a plus-three rating to help the Lancers earn three of four points in the standings over the weekend. He scored the first goal of the game and assisted on another in Friday"™s 5-4 shootout win vs. Tri-City. The 19-year-old then dished out three assists and registered a game high plus-three rating in Saturday"™s 5-4 shootout loss to Cedar Rapids. Playing in his third USHL season, the Sachse, Texas native has collected 30 points (12g, 18a) in 41 games for Lancers. Daugherty is also third on the club with a plus-16 rating.

Marshall scored two goals and put up a plus-two rating for the Lancers. He scored on the power play in Friday"™s win vs. Tri-City. The defenseman then helped spark a comeback on Saturday when he scored the first of two Lancers goals over the final three minutes of the third period. Marshall totaled seven shots on goal over the weekend. The USHL rookie from Stillwater, Minnesota has recorded 22 points (7g, 15a) in 43 games this season. He is plus-four over his last three games and ranks fourth overall in the USHL with a plus-24 rating.

McKay allowed just two goals over two victories for the Gamblers. He made 23 saves in Friday"™s 5-1 win vs. Muskegon and then stopped 21 shots in Saturday"™s 3-1 victory over Indiana. The 18-year-old netminder from Palatine, Illinois has allowed just three goals over his last five appearances and has earned six straight wins. He leads the USHL with both a 1.91 goals-against-average and a .932 save percentage as he has compiled a 23-6-1 record during his second season in the League. It is the third time in the past four weeks that McKay has earned the weekly goaltender award.
