Barry Soskin does not give up. He is determined to stay in the game and to push himself onto the good people of Danville, Illinois. There is an old saying that applies here; you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. Soskin"™s attempt to place Paul Contreras into the hockey community of Danville will never be forgotten.
Last year, the community flatly rejected any notion of a Soskin operated junior team and now Soskin has convinced the Federal Hockey League to grant him a franchise for Danville.
The Federal Hockey League? Who are these people? The FHL is a very low level minor professional league with five teams in the northeastern United States and one in Canada.
The league is operated by Don Kirnan. Kirnan is the Commissioner of the Empire Junior Hockey League and presently serves as a board member of USA Hockey"™s Junior Council. Kirnan knows all about Barry Soskin and Soskin knew all about Paul Contreras.
Why would a senior member of USA Hockey"™s Junior Council make such a decision? I guess the same reason that the church decided to just move the bad priests. All I know is this, if I see a turd in a punch bowl and it is quickly removed, I am still not going to drink the punch.
What do you think?
