The teams they are a changin'

Summer winds of change have hit the north. To be sure, there's a warm breeze that has affected the operations of the majority of teams within the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the North Division of the North American ...

Randy you have always done a great job covering the NOJHL league, I wish other leagues would take what you bring to the table and find writers who will cover their leagues, the good, bad and in between. The NOJHL owes you a great deal in how you write about them.

I just don't think that Yamada who is the Owner of the Ironmen "gets it." He did not "get it" when he was in Detroit with the Motor City Metal Jackets and he aparently still does not "get it" now that he has moved to Jamestown. Here you have a very reputable Sports Writer (Randy) who wants to give Jamestown some free publisity and Yamada does not have the common courtesy (or the PR savvy) to return messages. Not a very smart hockey operator if you ask me!

I of the opinyon that the Elliot Lake Bobcats are going to suprise a few people as a 1st Year Team in the NOJHL.
Ryan has a feel for the Community of Elliot Lake and the North Shore and I would not be surprized one bit if he has the backing of some sponsers down the Highway in Blind River. Ryan is a good hockey man & an a Owner he most certanly knows how to treet people which is a big part of the game!!!
GO BOBCATS GO!

Well said Jack. Any Owner/GM/Coach of a Junior hockey team in what is a high profile League like the 'NA' who purpossly insults the Media does not a have a clue what it takes to be a succesful franchise IMHO. Jamestown finished LAST in the NA North and you would think that they would be open to positive press but...perhaps that explains the Owner's futile history in the NA.

Randy, you know my feelings on the owner of Jamestown. You'll soon realize why that club will always be a bottom dweller.
Cheers!

Hi HockeySP - do you care to fill us in on why you think Jamestown will always be a bottom feeder?

I think it's fairly obvious! Look at their track record. They screw people every step of the way and the majority of their players don't even want to play for them. Karma!

HockeySP - I see the history and "track record" of the Owner & any one can see that. It just seemed that you had some personal expereince that you might want to share with us judgeing by what you said to Randy.

I do have the personal experience, however I don't think this is the "forum" to do that.

Jamestown situation makes you wonder why some people want to own a hockey team.Heisler reports awhile back that the Owner actually skates with the players at practice and goes to the dressing-room between periods. Un-believable! And this Jack Ass won't even return Randy's messages - who the f--- does he think he is I ask????

On another note...cant wait for the start of next season! Looking foward to watching a game up North in the "Zoo"!

Warriors holding a tryout camp starting tonite at Iceland Arena. Will be intresting to take a look at some of the new tenders, draft picks & walkons. I am also hearing that they have come up with a new ticket pkg for this season in hopes of attracting more fans to Perani.
